WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I REQUIRE TO TRANSPORT MY PET?

Required documents vary depending upon your specific country of destination. We advise contacting D.E.F.R.A. or your own vet to obtain the latest requirements. please click here to visit the D.E.F.R.A. website.

DO I NEED A PET PASSPORT TO TRANSPORT MY PET?

Animals travelling within ec countries from the UK require a pet passport which can be easily obtained via your vet.

SHOULD MY PET BE SEDATED FOR THE JOURNEY?

We recommend strongly against this (as do airlines) as changes in air pressure in the aircraft hold can have a detrimental affect on animals health. Generally animals settle down and sleep in the darkened, climate controled environment of the aircraft hold.

No, the animals travel in the aircraft hold, below the passenger compartment and there is no access to this from inside the aircraft.

WILL MY PET HAVE SUFFICIENT SPACE IN IT'S CONTAINER?

Yes, all containers are made to measure to ensure your pet is comfortable and able to stand up and turn around whilst meeting safety standards.

DOES MY PET NEED TO BE GIVEN FOOD AND WATER BEFORE THEY TRAVEL?

All I.A.T.A approved containers are provided with water containers which are filled prior to departure and refilled during any transfers. We provide you with a final feeding time prior to departure to ensure containers are not soiled, avoiding discomfort for your pet during the journey

Can our pet travel on the same flight as us?

If you provide us with details of your flight, we will be able to advise you whether this is possible. With the welfare of your pet in mind, we arrange the most suitable flights for your pet to minimise stress and discomfort. To avoid you incurring unnecessary costs, it is advisable for us to check availability for pets before you book your own flight if you wish to travel at the same time.

What happens if the flight is delayed?

Don't worry. If flights are delayed for any reason, there are kennel facilities available at most UK airports where pets can be looked after until departure.

Do I need to insure my pet for the journey?

At their discretion, owners can take out specialised travel-insurance.
